Dulles High School is one of the many Educational Institutions located
in Fort Bend ISD that hosts a decent amount of Muslim students from
around the area. Tthe students striving to stay in touch with thier
cultural and religious values and traditions come together as a part of
MSA National. The local chapter of MSA was started in 2002 by a group
of people willing to provide the Muslims at school with a place to
pray. The meetings soon transformed much more than Jumauh salat, they
became a rallying point for the Muslims in DHS. Many of the people at
this MSA attended ISGH South Zone
Masjid As-Sabireen which was only a short walking
distance away. In 2003 Dulles MSA entered the Muslim Interscholastic
Tournament. This event layed the groundwork for the MSA's future goals.
With the addition of a Muslim teacher to the Dulles High School Staff,
we had gained a valuable addition to our MSA. Mr. Mahdi Domitrovitch
has provided us with not only a room, but also a disciplinary entity
that could keep much-needed order in the mettings. One of the main things that the Muslims in Fort
Bend were striving for was an Arabic class. AlhamdoLillah we were
blessed to have Arabic classes to become a reality here in Dulles and
we now have 2 Muslim teachers present in Dulles. Another goal of our
MSA was to increase attendance in the friday halaqas in ISGH South Zone
Masjid As-Sabireen. The efforts to bring people to the Friday Halaqas
paid off when over the summer, Dulles MSA members came en masse to the
halaqas.
Dulles MSA continues to strive with the goal of being a place
where Muslims can get better in thier deen and a place where non-Muslims can
learn about our deen. May Allah keep this institution going for as long as this school stands. |
